On Tuesday, October 22 Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) and the Arkansas Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities will host the 2024 Annual Business Inclusion Summit in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Summit is an opportunity for businesses to come together and share best practices on employing people with disabilities. This year’s theme is Access to Good Jobs For All.
As Arkansas’ economy continues to expand, the businesses that understand how to tap the underutilized talent pool of workers with disabilities can gain a vital advantage over those who don’t. Disability: IN and AAPD’s 2023 report, The Disability Inclusion Imperative, makes a strong business case for hiring people with disabilities:
“Specifically, companies that have led on key disability inclusion criteria during that time have realized: 1.6x more revenue, 2.6x more net income, and 2x more economic profit than other participants in Disability: IN’s annual benchmark survey. They are also 25% more likely to outperform on productivity compared to their industry peers that have not participated in the survey, measured as revenue per employee. They also receive twice as many positive reviews related to aspects of disability inclusion than industry peers on Glassdoor.”
If your business wants to learn more about integrating people with disabilities into your workforce, the Summit is for you.
This year’s Summit includes panels and sessions on:
- Access and Accommodations
- Apprenticeships
- Disability Etiquette
- Employee Resource Groups
- Mental Health in the Workplace
These sessions are led by experienced professionals from the public and private sectors, including: Acxiom, ARS, Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, and J.B. Hunt.
