What is the Autism Awareness In The Ozarks event?
It is a gathering where there will be discussions of all the ins and outs of autism, such as:
What is autism?
What is daily life like with autism? (from the perspective of someone with autism, and neurotypical people who live with and associate with people who are autistic).
The event will have representatives from the Arkansas Autism Foundation in attendance, as well as musical entertainment by special guests Pam Setser & Gresham McMillon, and a very special guest musician, Terra Ellis, mother of an autistic child, who will talk about autism from the mothers perspective.
The event will also welcome a very special guest speaker, Jon Taylor, Executive Director of the Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities Arkansas.
There will be a special screening of the film “ Temple Grandin”, a wonderful look at the life of someone with autism. Please consider joining us for this very special event.
This event will be held at the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Bois d’ Arc event center in Mountain View, Arkansas.
