No Need to Wait, You Can Do This

Visit our website for more information.

Get your COVID shot today. Chances are great that you already know someone who has received the shot and did not experience any significant adverse effects.  Ask your friends and family members today about their experience if you feel nervous or still have questions.

You can take steps to protect yourself and your loved ones. The shot greatly reduces your chance of being hospitalized or worse, should you get COVID. It is critical that adolescent vaccinations catch up with adult vaccinations to prevent further community spread and help us get back to normal. Everyone age 6 months and older in Arkansas can now get a COVID-19 shot. Find out more here .

Get the shot to protect yourself and the people around you!

Why you should get a COVID-19 shot?

  • Getting the COVID shot is the best way to defeat this virus and get back to normal— safely gathering with family and friends,
indoor dining, weddings, concerts, sporting events, and travel.
  • The shots are effective. They prevent 95% of hospitalizations for Arkansans and greatly reduce risk of death due to COVID-19.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have endorsed the use of the COVID shot as a safe option for adolescents and adults. All FDA-authorized COVID-19 shots available in the United States meet the FDA’s rigorous standards for safety and effectiveness. Millions of COVID-19 doses have been administered in the United States since December 14, 2020, and all COVID shots will continue to be monitored for safety.

  • Get BOOSTED!

Can people mix and match vaccine brands for their booster shot?

  • People may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose, regardless of the initial vaccine originally received.

It’s your body and your choice. So exercise your right to choose the best shot for you. Some people may prefer the shot type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots. You can help your body’s immune system be even stronger and able to fight off the coronavirus.

Make your plan – on your terms!

If you want to get the COVID-19 shot, make your plan. You can find an Arkansas location here:

We at the GCDD Arkansas care about you. We have been listening. It’s understandable that you would have questions about the shot. There’s a lot of conflicting information out there. One of the things to remember is that vaccinations, like the series of shots we all remember from childhood, matter to everybody. It’s not just about you, it helps your community. We can do this together.

Everyone who chooses to get vaccinated does it for a reason. Arkansans know how to take care of each other. We are a caring community. Take your time and find your reason.

How can I get the COVID shot?

Eligible Arkansans can make an appointment at a community pharmacy. Clinics and events may also be available in your area through hospitals, health care providers, or your worksite.

How can I protect myself and others?

Protect yourself from contracting any virus by practicing healthy habits. Masking, washing or sanitizing hands and practicing social distancing are still good methods of protecting yourself and those around you! Even after getting the shot or recovering from COVID-19, you may be at risk. Continuing these healthy habits can be vital to your health and the health of your community. Flu season is another reason to continue using these strategies; in 2020 flu was greatly reduced in the United States due to precautions taken for COVID-19.

If you are experiencing illness you think may be symptoms of coronavirus and your situation is NOT critical, please stay at home and call your primary care physician for further instruction.
